Clumsy Connections

recycled wood, metal, rope, tape and a drill

Clumsy Connections is a collection of two furniture pieces that, despite their improvised construction, stand surprisingly sturdy. Assembled with just a few screws, some tape, and rope as a way to assemble leftover materials, the pieces embrace imperfection as a creative force.

Born from a desire to let go of perfectionism and the conventions of “proper” design, the project celebrates the beauty of error and spontaneity, allowing the process to hold as much importance as the outcome. It also questions what defines furniture or collectible design when resources and techniques are pared down to the minimum, inviting reflection on how context shapes the value and meaning of an object.
